Attention karaoke lovers! There’s a brand new place in the U-District to practice and perfect your craft. The Fusion Ultra Lounge just opened their doors in October under the ownership of the young, vibrant and beautiful Vanessa and her cohort, Troy.

Don’t mistake Vanessa’s youthful appearance as inexperience – she owns three bars and just recently sold one! This girl knows what’s going on folks and she’s building a small empire!

Her latest venture, the Fusion Ultra Lounge, sits just off I-5 on NE 45th directly across from Petco. As are most locations in the U-District, the Fusion is unassuming on the exterior, but upon entering the doors, you are thrust into an ambiance of rich reds and blacks, flowing sheer drapery and expensive drop lighting to create the mood. The ceilings are covered by billowing white cloth with wide swoops of softness, while the hardwood floors are tastefully covered with large, plush Asian area rugs. Three black leather couches and accompanying lounge tables surround an elevated and mostly enclosed stage area where karaoke host Robert, aka DJ Forest Gump, works his magic! DJ Forest Gump (don’t ask), busies himself behind a fully stocked and operational CAVS system which provides the singers with almost 11,000 song selections and a booming sound to fill the intimate bar. JBL speakers tower overhead and keep the dancing going well into the wee hours of the morning. There is no dance floor to speak of, but that doesn’t stop the hordes of beautiful women from dancing around the room wherever they can find a patch of real estate to shake their money-makers. And, let me tell you guys – there are three girls to every guy here – so what are you waiting for? Get on down to the Fusion Ultra Lounge for some seriously good times!

The stage is quite unique in that it is surrounded by half walls and ornate support columns with flowing white fabric for accents. The singers enter the stage area and enjoy an artistic space of their own, but their voices are projected loudly throughout the entire bar.

It’s a multi-level bar with plenty of seating, each area with an attitude of its own and each as interesting as the next. The bar is on a separate level of its own, complete with stand-up tables, bar stools and soft couches as well. Daren, otherwise known as Mr. Montana (don’t ask), keeps the drinks flowing and never stops smiling. His charm and good looks adds to the experience at the Fusion.

Did I mention the beautiful girls? OMG! Laughing and giggling and dancing, they definitely become the centerpiece to an already exciting evening out.

The Fusion Ultra Lounge lives up to it’s name as Ultra Lounge and is quite the draw for the younger, more beautiful crowd who love their karaoke fun! DJ Forest Gump fits right in with his tall stature and shining pearly whites. His appreciation for his “job” is obvious while he dances the night away from behind his equipment, fulfilling the requests of his faithful and growing audience. He manages the karaoke here every Tuesday from 9:30pm to close and also hosts at the J&M Café in Pioneer Square every Monday night.

The Fusion presents a creative, upscale menu with an emphasis on quality. They offer a $4.00 Happy Hour menu from 5pm-7pm daily along with ½ price appetizers during karaoke.

Free Wi-Fi is available for those who dare to lug their ‘puters around with them.

Weekly specials and entertainment include $1.00 PBRs and $2.00 Bud and Bud Light all night long on Tuesdays during the karaoke show. Wednesdays at the Fusion feature ½ off your tab night, including both food and drink, plus DJ Spam I Am spins your Hip Hop favorites. On Thursdays it’s $1.00 wells College Night featuring DJ Yianni at the helm. Fridays brings Top 40 Mash-Ups and R&B with DJ Prime. Saturday nights at the Fusion is Salsa Latin Night with DJ Delicious and DJ Tonito with exclusive guest DJs.

The Fusion Ultra Lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm to 2am, so get plenty of sleep on Sunday and Monday and plan on spending the rest of your week at this fun and uniquely plush bar where you’re sure to make new friends aplenty!
