ROCKOS FIRESIDE ALEHOUSE; EVERETT, WA By Rocky & Kristine Fields Always on the look out for new karaoke spots, we were alerted to Rocko’s Fireside Alehouse in Everett and headed out for an evening of singing fun. We called before heading out and were told that they have karaoke at Rocko’s three nights a week and decided to head out on a Sunday night. Karaoke is offered at Rocko’s Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9pm-close. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are fun for karaoke too, but Sundays are a more relaxed day for us, and visiting fit right into our schedule. Karaoke was already rolling along when we arrived and the host was a really sweet lady named Mikki. She had a rotation already going but worked us in nicely and soon we too were singing some of our favorite songs. The song selection was fairly good and the sound was excellent. Mikki played some music in between singers but kept the rotation flowing and it seemed that everyone liked this method of hosting. Rocko’s has a friendly staff and helpful bartenders. We couldn’t decide what to drink and they were right there with some fun suggestions. We decided on dinner and hoped that they were still serving. We were happy to find out that they serve a pretty full menu until fairly late so we ordered a couple of delicious burgers with fries. The new owners of Rocko’s have taken the time to really clean the place up and give it the TLC it was needing. Rocko’s has an outdoor beer garden with a smoking canopy for those who like the outdoors and for those who like to smoke too. The upcoming summer months will be fun at Rocko’s for sure! As we were enjoying the karaoke we also noticed quite a few other mentionable things. For example, two pool tables and two dart boards, PGA tour gold game, and pull tabs galore. I decided to try my luck at pull tabs, one thing I rarely do anywhere we go, and voila! Yes, I won. I was pretty happy that my tab was covered and I still had cash left over. Bonus, as I like to say. The host on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for karaoke is Frank who was also there on the Sunday we visited, and we enjoyed his personality as well as his singing talents. Mikki, the Sunday night host has hosted for four years previously at a location farther North in Everett and has settled in nicely to Rocko’s. If you enjoy live music Rocko’s is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. There’s never a cover and the bands totally rock. There’s also an open “Jam” night with host Polecat on Thursdays, so if you play an instrument, bring it out for jam night and rock out with some other great musicians. One other thing before we go so you can head out to Rocko’s, you must know that Rocko’s has the absolute best, most amazing jell-o shots in town, bar none! You must try one, if there are any left when you arrive. Yes, they’re that good! Take a trip to Everett and visit Rocko’s Fireside Alehouse at 7520 Beverly Blvd. for a fun time filled with music and fun. | ||||||||
