INN BETWEEN TAVERN; KENT, WA
It’s O.nly K.araoke at the Inn Between

By Amber Trigg

Bad Monkey Works (B.M.W.), the company that brought us the “It’s O.nly K.araoke show”, an already established show in Auburn, has spread their wings to Kent’s East Hill three times a week. Their newest show is another “It’s O.K. Show” at The Inn Between Tavern, next to Staples and across from Longhorn Outpost.

A cozy, well-lit bar, the Inn Between not only offers karaoke three nights a week, but also showcases creativity and imagination, with each night offering it’s own brand of flavor.

Wedensday nights bring in Batman, or DJ Bat. He’s a patient and casual host, always willing to help sing along if your nerves fail you. Saturday and Sunday nights feature Geodaddy, the man behind B.M.W., serving up his style of fun-loving, sociable hosting. A veteran host, Geodaddy’s recently branched out on his own, with his own hosting company and is proving himself as a force to be reckoned with. His library already has thousands of songs, and is growing!

Even though the Inn Between doesn’t have a wooden dance floor, that doesn’t stop folks from cutting a rug, or acting like kids on Halloween with the large trunk full of easily accessible costumes. Trust me, not only do the wigs, silly hats and glasses make for GREAT live entertainment, but they make awesome pictures to threaten as myspace.com arsenol as well, or just to post as a comment. No matter what you do with your photos from a night at the Inn Between, you can be assured you’ll have a great time.

The barstaff is friendly and eager to please. Evelyn, a veteran of the Inn, and Kristy have an awesome demeanor and are hard at work mixing delicious beverages. You might even occasionally find Shawna or Tory behind the bar giving you their best. No extra charge for the smiles.

Sundays, or Suicide Sundays, are Dr. Geodaddy’s specialty. Last year, he completed a no repeat string of 400 different songs. He encourages everyone to sing new and different songs battling what he refers to as ‘onetrickponyosis’. They’ve also added Guitar Hero as an option if you’re feeling shy about singing. There is also free pool.

If you’re wondering what else is special about the Inn Between Tavern, besides karaoke, they also have Texas Hold’em Tournaments every Tuesday and Thursday night, a nice variety of pulltabs with prizes ranging from the usual cash to a scooter, stock car jackets and even a nice big plasma screen TV.

Happy Hour starts at 11am, Sunday through Thursday and promises a discount on both well drinks ($2.75) and domestic pounders ($1.75), along with Jager drink specials Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday.

They also have a nice food menu for those in need of some substance to go with their drinking fun. “Don’t drink on an empty stomach!” Advice that Geodaddy throws out as the night goes by.
