American Cowgirls offers bartop singing

Have you ever been so inspired while singing that you just wanted to climb right up on the bartop and belt out your best? How about getting up on the stage and slithering around on a stripper’s pole doing your best “Lady Marmalade” performance.

Get your groove on every Wednesday night at Portland’s American Cowgirls located on Martin Luther King Boulevard, across the street from The Portland Convention Center.

American Cowgirls offers karaoke on Wednesdays, DJ dance music on Saturdays and live music on Fridays. They’ve got a huge dance floor with a separate stage for singing and dancing. The sound system is a professional club system along with installed nightclub lighting. Hosting the karaoke is DJ Dean Kramer, one half of Unique Entertainment. His partner is Greg Swain who hosts karaoke at his beach-gig on the coast at Rockaway Beach. Swain is also the weekend dance DJ and can be found at American Cowgirls Wednesday through Saturday nights. He also hosts a karaoke contest on Wednesdays when the crowd is large enough. Swain talks about what he tries to achieve at American Cowgirls,

“I try to create an atmosphere for people with a “neighborhood” atmosphere in a high class setting.” He mentions the diverse crowd inherent as a downtown location, “It changes every night depending on they type of conventions, Trailblazer games and type of promos we have running.

“It’s all friendly, everyone has a smile and we treat it as a family atmosphere - a place where everyone can come where there’s something for everyone. We want to build our weeknights and Karaoke crowd.”

General Manager Brad Robinson had this to add; “We’re an upbeat bar with a nice crowd and a mixed array of music. American Cowgirls is a great place for friends to come and meet and get together for good times. We have excellent food and delicious drinks. We provide a good mix of country and Top 40, so there’s something everybody can enjoy.”

Singing, dancing, partying and good food and drinks, throw in some special promotions and an Industry Night and you’ve got the right combination for a winning formula.
