Maxi’s still rockin’ with karaoke

We’ve always loved a good Chinese meal. We’re always looking for great food, and of course karaoke. It may be hard to believe, but the best place for Chinese food in Marysville has been there for over 25 years, and yes, they have karaoke too.

Maxi’s, located at 9611 State Ave, Suite C in Marysville, may not be the easiest place to find the first time, but once you’ve been there you’ll never forget how to get back! We’ve scoured the area for better food and honestly we haven’t had much luck. Great big portions and some of the best tasting, fresh quality Chinese food you’ve probably ever had, that’s what you’ll find when you order at Maxi’s.

One nice thing we discovered about Maxi’s is that they serve well into the night and with the schedules we keep, it’s good to know that there’s great quality Chinese food just up the road for that late night dinner. You can order food until 11pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and until Midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Maxi’s has recently updated their menu so be sure to take a good look at it and try something new, we’re sure it’ll be delicious. You may want to plan a special Mother’s Day meal and treat your Mom to Maxi’s where she’ll receive a free carnation. Try a martini too, they’re offering $1.00 off any martini during the entire month of May. Yum!

The bar staff is wonderful. It’s always refreshing to sing karaoke at a bar where the staff really enjoys the entertainment and occasionally joins in the singing as well. Amy, Jackie and Teresa take great care of their customers, mixing up some original drinks at good prices and of course all of the old standards too. They have been in the process of designing a new drink menu and will be featuring 75 vodkas very soon! They’ve got an incredible menu designed specifically for the designated driver in your group so they won’t be stuck drinking coffee or pop all night long.

Karaoke is hosted by Clay, well known for his talent singing Journey like none other, and we must say he does an excellent job of both hosting and singing. You can sing four nights a week at Maxi’s, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8pm-12:30am, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm-1:30am.

Clay keeps the rotation clean, mixes the singers and adjusts the sound according to each person’s style and song choice. Maxi’s has one of the biggest selections around of the older Pioneer LD discs (the ones that look like records) and they honestly have the purest music of all karaoke manufacturers around, hands down. Of course they’ve got the newer CD+Gs too, and the selection is actually quite impressive. The crowd here has its regulars, as do most places, but they all seem to welcome newcomers and everyone really puts on a fun show. Some are funny, some are very serious, but everyone is welcome and all types of music are encouraged.

With an upbeat staff, incredible food at great prices, drink specials and specialties galore, and karaoke hosted by a really fun guy, how could you resist checking out Maxi’s? We’ll see you there, we just can’t seem to stay away.
