What makes a bar a place you want to return to, and become a regular customer. For most people, it's the kind of customers that patronize the establishment, for others it might be the bartenders, food, pool tables, darts, pull tabs, and/or entertainment that a bar may have to offer.

If you are really into karaoke, you look for a dazzling stage with awesome lighting, a killer sound system, fantastic song selection, and of course, an entertaining and dynamic host. There's always a lot going on at Bleacher's nightly. But there is one thing that might be of interest to all of you karaoke singers. Tuesdays through Saturdays are your nights to shine! Bleachers is located at 14422 Pacific Ave. in Spanaway, 253-536-1533. For several years now, Bleacher's Sports Bar has been serving up nothing but fun and excitement for the friendly community of Spanaway. You've gotta come in and check out Bleacher's new karaoke system; a bass-thumping speaker system, a huge selection of songs, a spacious stage with rope-lighting on the posts and spectacular overhead lighting. All this was professionally engineered and built by Bear of Bear Azz Productions, who is no stranger to the karaoke industry and has been around for many years.

You can have the hottest karaoke equipment, the coolest lighting, thousands of song selections, and it means nothing unless you have an equally qualified karaoke host. Bear and his co-host, El Guapo, are both seasoned veterans in the karaoke industry and know how to please the crowd!

Bear got his start in the music industry 17 years ago at the infamous EM-Club on the base at Ft. Lewis. EM stands for Enlisted Members. Bear had been serving in the Army for a while always finding excuses to jam with his friends on the keyboards or bass guitar. His willingness to share his talents got himself noticed. He was offered a DJ position in the club and starting developing his craft of entertaining and hosting.

When the karaoke industry started to evolve, Bear was one of the first karaoke hosts to work in the area. He loved karaoke so much, he and his friends used to find out where the local singing contests would be held, going to these contests and splitting all the prize money between him and his friends. This was well before the NW Karaoke Guide was even thought of! That's pretty resourceful!

Speaking of contests, Bleachers Sports Bar is currently having a contest every Tuesday night. Prizes are given away to the weekly qualifiers who will compete in the finals in June.
