Karaoke World Contest News
The new Karaoke World Contest managed by the our new Karaoke World Consortium continues to grow with the addition of Norway, Sweeten, Denmark, Holland, Germany, Bosnia, Slovakia, and The Czech Republic.
Karaoke Expressions of Denmark has volunteered to host one of our world finals in the coming years following this summer's world finals here in the good old USA and next season's world finals in Australia. Our American hosts are currently working on their proposals to handle our first world finals which will be open to folks who desire to enter from anywhere in the world. Yes, wild cards will indeed be allowed to compete against our American team as the other nations prepare for next season. Don't forget to visit our new international site at www.karaokeworldcontest.com.
KWCUSA National News: On the home front, we have just selected our new National Finals Host, David D. Niswonger, owner of Red Hot Karaoke in Yorktown Indiana; www.redhotkaraoke.net. Dave has decided to include our finals in a major event known as "Summer Heat" happening in Muncie, Indiana. Last year the festival attracted 25,000 people. There will be 500 food booths, carnivals, hot air ballooning (at night!) and country stars; Jared Ashley, Blake Shelton, and Billy Dean. Activities begin on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 5pm with a meet and greet cocktails party for our singers. The final round of KWCUSA competition will be on Sunday, June 18th.
KWCUSA Local News: Regional finals are still scheduled for April 1 at The Limit Bar & Grill in Centralia, WA where "J" Schraeder is hosting her KWCUSA Tournament Events. Turnout has been small so far, so if you want to participate, just stop by on any karaoke night (Friday and Saturday) to enter ($20 entry fee applies) and qualify for her Tournament Finals. Call "J" for more information: (360) 273-2396. Her regional finals will select the six singers who qualify to advance to Nationals June 15-18 in Muncie, Indiana. "J" intends to allow as many wild cards as she has room for so if you have missed entering her preliminaries you may still have a shot at it, especially if you are from Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska. KWCUSA welcomes KJ's, hosts, and clubs to join us in bringing the contest to American singers. Contact Frank Davies at (360) 357-5465 (or fjdavies@yahoo.com) for more information and volunteer host our events in your neighborhood, or visit us online at http://kwcusa.com.
