In Memoriam: Robert G. Woods
Dec. 5, 1972 - July 16, 2006
At 4am Sunday, July 16, 2006, our community lost Robert Woods, a.k.a. "Bobbo", in a tragic motorcycle accident in Brier, WA.
You may have met Rob playing darts or while he was singing or hosting karaoke; either way his impression was unforgettable.
He was born December 5, 1972, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Deanna Surber and Larry Woods. A self-admitted "blue-collar redneck", Rob made friends everywhere he went. Rob had a smile that was absolutely unforgettable, and a sense of humor that could get anyone laughing. He was deeply in love with his wife Abbey, and held his precious children in high regard, always. Robert married Abbey Mathias on May 8, 1999. He worked for KGM Construction. Rob had a deep love for the new puppy he was raising and, of course, for his motorcycle, which he rode frequently.
Robert is survived by his wife, Abbey (a dart player too); one sone, Allan Woods; and two daughters, Victoria and Alexis Woods; mother and step-father, Deanna and Jack Surber; and his sister, Michelle Melillo, as well as many other family and devoted friends. He was preceeded in death by his father, Larry Woods.
A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 21, at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel, 3301 Colby Avenue, Everett.
Two dedication nights will be held at the 13th Ave Pub, Lynnwood, WA. August 17th for his dart friends, and August 19th for his karaoke family. A collection is currently being taken at the 13th to help support Abbey and Rob's family. Please come celebrate Rob's life, we know he would have wanted you there. Rob and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers. He will be deeply missed. We should all celebrate in our memories of him. May he rest in God's gracious peace. Both events begin at 9pm.
