New Host, same ol’ great location

When is the last time you visited the U-District? Well, if you work in the area or you attend the University of Washington, you’re there daily. But, if you’re looking for a great place for fun, amusement, and yes, even karaoke, the place to go is Dante’s. Their motto, “ALWAYS A PARTY” is evident every night, as they offer pool, darts, pinball machines, video games, neon foosball and more! Dante’s is located at 5300 Roosevelt Way NE; telephone 206-525-1300.

As you enter Dante’s on Roosevelt Way, you go through a transforming buildup with every step you take. It’s almost like entering a different world. The front entryway leads you to a spacious main seating area to your right and the main bar on your left. The front seating area ranges from barstool round tables, to sit-down tables, and then one gigantic table in the shape of a T, made from huge timbers designed to seat large groups. Of course there are TVs located throughout the area to give you a good vantage point for any game or event that is being televised. If you are a Huskies fan, this is definitely the place to be!

As you continue walking through, you reach a split-level entry. The stairs to the left take you up to the huge loft, where you will find three more dart boards and another large seating area perfect for lounging, chatting and partying! The stairs to your right take you down to the lower floor, where there’s so much going on! Pool tables, darts, air hockey, video games, pinball games, a foosball table under neon lights, basketball hoop shoot—all of these amusement machines thoughtfully positioned, leaving lots of areas to roam around or sit down and relax.

They have moved the karaoke and DJ system downstairs to provide a better sound and more comfortable seating area amidst the games and pool tables. They still have the 19,000 karaoke songs available for you to sing.

Rotations are pretty decent because they are mastered by Edward Brazier, a veteran karaoke enthusiast, performer and host. Edward puts on a great show; he’s full of energy, and loves to entertain!
