Hayley’s Idol

Welcome to the May edition of the best, and only karaoke publication in the beautiful state of Washington!We work hard to bring you news from around the area. Contest updates, live entertainment events and special happenings. We seek ‘em out and report back to you!
This time around, we want to tell you all about Dr. Dan’s Hayley’s Idol Contest!
Haley’s on Hewitt Avenue in Everett, WA will kick off their first ever Hayley’s Idol on May 5, 2010.
Every Wednesday for ten weeks, you, yourself, and well, you, can qualify for the Big Finale on the eleventh week and possibly become Hayley’s Idol!
Hayley’s already has great karaoke on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but wanted to spice things up with a super fun singing contest.
Yes, there will be judges, and there will be judging criteria. Cash and prizes all totaled equal $800 worth of goodies.
Grand prize on Big Finale night will be $200 bucks, $100 to 2nd place and $50 for 3rd place. Hayley’s will be giving away special prizes each week during qualifying weeks to the top three, who will advance to finals round.
If you’ve never been to Hayley’s, it’s right downtown Everett, where the old Jimmy Z’s used to be. The address is 1716 Hewitt Avenue, Everett, WA (425) 263-9792.
Hayley’s has one of the largest professional music stages around, as well as a full-time, professional sound guy named Joe. Joe even runs sound during karaoke so the mixing is off the chain, as well as the light show.
Dr. Dan and Shadow co-host Hayley’s karaoke, and if you like it loud, you’ll love it here! Girls like to get up and dance on the big speakers on either side of the stage and there’s a huge dance floor in front too.
The Beer Pong is all set up for events on every Wednesday night. You can also play pool for free on Wednesdays alongside a great karaoke contest, how awesome is that?!
There’s a ton of seating on each different level, so if you’re wanting a quieter space, you can find that too. Find a nice booth and order some food, served until 1am! That’s a nice bonus for any night out.
Wednesdays has just been approved for $3 specials as well, and Tuesdays features $2 specials. Great karaoke, drink specials, contests, free pool, Beer Pong and killer food!
Just as a note, you don’t have to be the absolute best of the best singers to win the contest. Some of the criteria include stage performance, and other things that will play into whether you win or not, so don’t be shy even if you don’t already think you’re the bomb! Give it a try, have some fun, and you can sing like a rock star! Check it out Tuesday and then go back again for the contest qualifier on Wednesday. You’ll really have a nice time at Hayley’s.
