Hot competition at the Golden Steer

On Thursday, February 16th, the Golden Steer and Stars Unlimited kicked off their first karaoke contest of 2006. Contestants compete on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for a chance to qualify for the semi-finals on that week's Sunday night. Those who do not qualify on that night are invited to re-try the next night. There will be ten contestants from the Sunday semi-finals and two third place winners that will advance to the finals on March 26th.

Sunday, February 19th was the first semi-finals. The room was filled with lots of talent and fierce competition. The judging was close and all the singers were separated by just one point, but when all was said and done, Chris and Trisha were the first two contestants to advance to the finals. Tony was third earning his entry for the chance as one of the two wild cards.

Karaoke starts at 9pm and is hosted by the lovely Candy Crummett of Stars Unlimited. The contest is about having fun and enjoying what you love to do, not to mention the cash prizes to be won. All are invited for a great time of singing, dancing and great food.
