Well, this is it! The final issue of the Karaoke Guide for 2011! I seriously cannot believe that this year is already coming to an end. It amazes me how quickly the time flies when you’re truly having fun. We want to take this time to thank you, all of you, for your continued support of this publication, of karaoke, and of live entertainment in general. We most certainly couldn’t do this without you!

Greetings and welcome to the December edition of RockTheBlues News. November was an interesting month for us. We partnered with “88 Keys” in Pioneer Square for a monthly RockTheBlues concert series to be held one Sunday every month. I’m really excited about working with this venue. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to check the place out, you really should. It is a great room for live music. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. You can see the stage from everywhere.
Big Sky Karaoke at Buzz Inn

We’ve been on the lookout for new karaoke venues close to home and realized that the Buzz Inn in Smokey Point was running karaoke several nights of the week. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Host Michael, of Big Sky Entertainment, sets up the gear and rocks the Buzz Inn with a lot of country, a little bit of soul, and some oldtime rock and roll too.

I’ve owned several bars, hosted karaoke, and know a bit about both sides of the business. Hosting is a great job, so why not do a good job? Everybody wants to be a host, but they don’t care if they are a good host or not.
New Cedar Stump

There’s a place in Arlington, WA that’s been there for years. In fact, for as long as I’ve lived in the area, I’ve seen this place off I-5 Freeway for what seems like forever.
The building has undergone some changes, it’s closed, reopened, changed ownership, added this, upgraded that, etc. But, most recently, the New Cedar Stump opened their doors, so we stopped in to visit a few friends.

D n D Productions: Karaoke couple with a purpose
Dave and Diana Richards met at karaoke one night and fell in love.
As it turns out, Dave was hosting a show at the old Uncle Mo’s in Georgetown when Diana walked into the room and into his life. That was three years ago. Married last August, they now share the same name.
Probably the cutest couple you’ll ever meet, Dave and Diana have built a karaoke business to be proud of.
