Get your karaoke fix at Seattle’s Industry Lounge
By Ty Hughes
Maybe it’s the eccentricity in the décor, or the diversity of patron that makes the Industry Lounge such a magnet for creativity and interesting humans.
Anyone with half a personality is drawn to this place for reasons well-known. Just ask John and Beth what keeps them coming back week after week. See what Jerry the Entertainer says about hosts Triple J and Michellay, and why he’s a fixture here.
Strike three! You’re outta there!

First, I want to thank Stephen W. who responded to my last article. He’s got huge balls to say what he did: “Unfortunately, in the city I live in, up in Northern Washington, a single company has all but destroyed the karaoke here! No bar owner will hire anyone else because of this man’s actions. He also has several systems with pirated music and a number of hosts that he doesn’t properly train to run shows.”
Party down at the Water Hole Pub
By Scott Kringle
Saturday nights in the Summertime are always a blast when you find a place with great entertainment. Someplace you can win a little cash, maybe some candy treats, and a drink ticket or two.
The Water Hole Bar & Grill on Sumner, Washington’s Main Street was definitely the right place to be on Saturday, October 8.
Aury Moore Band prepares for European Tour
By Ty Hughes
Aury Moore celebrated her birthday October 16 at Seattle’s Ohana on 1st Avenue Belltown with her main man, drummer Eddie Mendoza, and a parade of old friends.
Sahwoosh made her a nice birthday cake, and Aury’s old friend Lynn was in town from California for a bit. Terry, Ohana’s most prevalent karaoke fan, was also celebrating a birthday in a couple days.
Roll with Bobby at the Loose Wheel
By Ty Hughes
There are only a few karaoke hosts out there that have the experience and longevity that Tacoma-based Bobby Miller brings to his position.
For 25 years, Bobby Miller has entertained, enabled, and propagated our South Sound habitants, and probably many of their children as well. Bobby was karaoke before there even was karaoke. By looking at him, you’d swear he wasn’t but a teenager away from being one himself.

Kathy’s Pizza with a slice of karaoke
By Ty Hughes
Oh man, you North Seattleites are so lucky! I would give my right arm to have a Kathy’s Pizza, Grill and Sportsbar in my neighborhood. But, they’d probably have me arrested, on account of my tent blocking the front door and stuff.
The locals are familiar with the location of Kathy’s Pizza, from years gone by when it was a Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor, and then became Mr. Bill’s, one of the North Seattle’s most popular nightclubs. Most recently, someone started a soccer bar here, but that idea was kicked to the curb.
Put Oscar’s on your radar
By Thomas Haley
Sometimes you find the best places when you least expect it.
Oscar’s is a swank restaurant located just south of 72nd and Hosmer in Tacoma, with an extensive menu to suit everybody’s desires. The bar provides a spacious atmosphere with lots of seating, an elegant ambience and dining experience coupled with live entertainment and karaoke.
Selena’s is not your average karaoke bar
By Kristine Fields
We heard about this new place down in Shoreline and hadn’t been there in ages so we decided to go check it out. It’s called Selena’s, and is exactly where the old Zaika’s used to be.
We suspected that with a name like Selena’s, it was a family Mexican style restaurant. Selena’s is nice and clean, and smells delicious!

Buckshot Jazz! “Go Johnny Go!”
By Ty Hughes
Buckshot Jazz celebrated their one-year anniversary at Johnny’s at Fife last month in true style. Johnny’s was standing-room only as Buckshot Jazz night, 2nd Thursday each month, has grown in popularity by leaps and bounds since our last report.
