Those of you who like to sing karaoke a lot, really need to jump into the car, grab your singin’ buddies, throw a good CD in the deck and head out to Enumclaw! The Crystal Saloon is offering a wide open rotation from Sunday night to Thursday night with the incomparable DJ Robby at the helm.
DJ Robby is quite a character, for those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to meet the man. For one thing, he knows music like nobody else. Robby’s got a massive bank of equipment at his fingertips as he sits perched over the dance floor at the Crystal Saloon. Not only does he know how to operate all those buttons and gadgets, but he’s very good at it. He’s got his regular singers sounding like true rockstars up there, and they just keep coming back night after night to get their sing on. Fellow Enumclaw residents are the beneficiaries of Robby’s long music history and experience in the industry. They may or may not always know just how lucky they are to have such an incredible figure right in their own neighborhood, workin’ the system. Everybody is invited to come out to the Crystal Saloon Sunday through Thursday night and become an understudy to DJ Robby. He actually does enjoy working closely with his singers to become better at what they do. And to listen to this guy sing, will flat blow you away! This is the guy you want giving you tips on sounding like a real pro. In fact, he used to have his own school for music!
Justin is currently studying under DJ Robby in the sound booth. He says it comes naturally for him, workin’ all that equipment, says it’s easy. His challenge is getting up in front of the crowd. But he’s well on his way to becoming a fantastic soundman.
The Crystal Saloon features a big ol’ stage and an even bigger sound system that rocks. They attract a young, vibrant crowd with active hopes and dreams in the music industry. Many of Robby’s singers are aspiring musicians. His perspective on people in general is absolutely gracious and accepting. He says that everybody has some talent, and it takes a lot of guts to just get up there and sing out loud in front of a roomful of friends and strangers.
The Crystal Saloon, for those of you who think it’s just too far to drive, just isn’t. You’d be surprised at how quickly you can find yourself at their doorstep. And when you walk in, you’ll be amazed at the cavernous interior with so much to offer. They’ve got a pool room with comfortable couches that stays very busy. There’s an actual mechanical bull that cranks up on the weekends. Not to mention an entire bistro full of dining tables, open during the day for the whole family, serving up some excellent menu items. The bar juts out into the middle of the room and the line forms there, keeping the bartenders running behind the bar.
The Crystal Saloon features some real money-saving specials during the week. On Tuesday, for example, you’ll get $2 beers (any beer), $2 well drinks, and $1 tacos! They call it Tightwad Tuesday, and you need to check it out.
