Flights Pub; Everett, WA – Karaoke takes Flights
By Kristine Crawford
After a long day with the kids home from school because of the MLK Jr. holiday on Monday, January 18, I decided to get out of the house and sing some karaoke. After scouring the ads in the Karaoke Guide, I noticed that Flights Pub on Evergreen Way in Everett was having a karaoke contest on Monday nights. It was the perfect opportunity to shake off those Monday blues.
Veronica Farrill had just started hosting there recently and she is a blast! With two contests a month and new ideas like a “fishbowl round” (popular songs drawn at random for everyone to sing), Flights is putting themselves on the map for karaoke. For their first contest, there were amazing voices competing for $25 cash and a $20 gift certificate. Garrett, singing “Peace Sells, Who’s Buying”, and putting his long hair to use on the stage all night, walked away with the cash. Jordan’s rendition of “Hey Jude” had many fans screaming and lighters being waved. Dan’s “Under the Boardwalk” turned into a sing-along and received so much applause I was looking for the “applaud now” sign somewhere. After a very close race, where the recount couldn’t even decide upon 2nd place, they split the gift certificate.
On the first Monday of every month at Flights Pub, there will be a $25 cash prize for 1st place and $20 gift certificate for 2nd place. Then on the third Monday each month, they will award a $40 gift certificate to 1st place and a $20 gift certificate for 2nd place.
I would encourage anyone who enjoys fun karaoke, to close out your Mondays with some singing fun at Flights. They have food and drink specials that change monthly. Janna is behind the bar and creates some tasty concoctions to pamper yourself with.
Flights is located in a stand-alone building in the middle of the Safeway parking lot at 7601 Evergreen Way, Everett. Call them at (425) 347-6659.

I love it!
