Johnny’s in Fife welcomes Ravonna

Those of you karaoke singers who have been wondering where your favorite host Ravonna might have disappeared to, worry not. We’ve had a Ravonna sighting at Johnny’s of Fife, where she is alive and well, and smiling as usual.

Ravonna recently took over the karaoke host position at Johnny’s and would love to invite all her friends to come down for some karaoke fun every Friday and Saturday night at her new “home”.

Many of you have known Ravonna for years. She’s been hosting karaoke for over 15 years at some of the area’s most popular karaoke venues, including the likes of Gregory’s (Seatac), CJ’s (Renton), the Casino (Burien), Dave’s of Milton, and most recently at Ma’s Place in Puyallup. Ravonna credits karaoke for putting her daughter through school when she was a single mother.

Ron and Wendy love the fact that Ravonna has come to Johnny’s. They prefer her brand of karaoke over the others. “I like the new feeling at Johnny’s”, Wendy says, “It seems more formal, and Ravonna’s great at engaging the singers by talking to them and getting around the room to invite them up to sing”.

Wendy, known for her enthusiastic performances, was an ex-singer of Johnny’s, now back for Ravonna’s show. She and Ron are true karaoke fans, with their own CD collections sprawled out in front of them on the table. Judy came out with Wendy and Ron for an evening of singing as well.

Ravonna sets her equipment up on a couple of unpretentious tables toward the entrance to the bar. The big podium is gone, it’s just Ravonna in all her glory, serving the singing masses at Johnny’s. She ambles around the room after locking in the singer, to touch base with her friends and customers. She absolutely loves her new gig and the room as a whole for karaoke and as a comfortable, relaxing hangout for her karaoke faithfuls.

The people are great and the singers are awesome! Kin came down with Arlene and John, up from California, to sing karaoke and let me just say, “Wow”! He sounded incredible!

Pete, Ravonna’s boyfriend, got up for a few songs, as did Greg, who has that classic Country voice that’ll melt your heart.

Brad sang Butterfly Kisses and enjoys the karaoke scene. Ravonna introduced Brad as having the ability to record your favorite songs on CD in his own Puyallup studio with a live band and even lyrics on the monitors for just $50 each. He’s a talented musician, providing the Vocals, Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Kazoo on his own solo albums. Ravonna uses a CAVS system for her karaoke and the raised speakers really spread the sound out well around the room.

Johnny’s is full of booth and table seating surrounding the bar. The chairs are very comfortable, it’s easy to nestle in and pass the entire night away with signature food from Johnny’s kitchen, a tasty cocktail, and plenty of singing to warm your heart. Friends are yours for the taking at Johnny’s, all you’ve got to do is head on over to Fife and get into the action!
