Buckshot Jazz celebrates 1-year Anniversary at Johhny’s of Fife
It’s official! Buckshot Jazz paired with a nice Italian Mionetto Prosecco is a big hit at Johnny’s of Fife.
Celebrating their one-year anniversary at Johnny’s at Fife on 10-11-12, Buckshot Jazz played to a highly appreciative and responsive crowd. The company they keep at Johnny’s is always fascinating.
Buckshot is Randy on guitar, Mike on the keyboard, and of course, Buck on drums. Together, they make for an incredible trio of musicians. Buckshot, along with special guests, and Randy’s beautiful wife, Sidney, get together every second Thursday and play all your smooth and jazzy favorites, including a handful of Top 40 hits to go with a fabulous homemade dinner of Johnny‘s signature quality. The Chicken Florentine is amazing, and comes highly recommended. It goes great with the Prosecco, as introduced by Josh of Southern Wine and Spirits.
Josh provides a thorough tableside explanation of each of his featured wines. For just twelve dollars a head, you‘ll enjoy a generous pour from several different varietals. This is a fun and inexpensive way to become better educated and cultured when it comes to wines. Southern Wine and Spirits believes we should all be better ’wine’ educated. They host their wine tasting parties throughout the Puget Sound area, and the West Coast. They’re definitely catching on.
Johnny’s ultra-comfortable lounge atmosphere is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner with wine, and a bit of Buckshot Jazz to liven things up. Halfway through my pilaf, Buck himself approached our table to personally thank us for coming out. He visits every table this way during each show. This being their anniversary show, they were giving away two pair of UW Husky Football tickets. Two questions would separate everyone in that room from their own pair of tickets. “What was the main grape used to make Cognac?” Also, “Who is Toni Braxton’s father, a famous jazz musician, and what did he play?”
We were clueless, and didn’t make it in the drawing. But Joyce and Janice nailed it! They were so happy to accept their game tickets.
Johnny’s staff, Patti and Jennifer were excellent as usual. Draft beers for just $3.75. Service with a smile! Anita even stuck around after work to enjoy the party. Everyone had a great time at Johnny’s at Fife that night. The second Thursday of each month at Johnny’s should be a ritual. Make it so!
Happy Hour everyday from 5-8pm features $2.25 drafts, $2.50 bottles, and $2.75 well drinks. And of course, for you superstar wannabes, you won’t want to miss the most-awesome Ravonna-style karaoke every Friday and Saturday at Johnny’s. Good things happen here.
