Jellyneckin’at One Eyed Jacks
By Ty Hughes
Saturday, September 22 was a special day at One Eyed Jacks Roadhouse in Lynnwood, WA.
Owner Tom McAlees had two popular bands lined up to take the stage, and it wasn’t long before the bar was packed with rockers, wall to wall.
First up was musical guest, Tyranny Theory, who had their own faithful following that had shown up, paid their $3 cover charge and found a table near the stage. They didn’t plan on sitting for long, once the bands hit the stage, it was partytime!
By the time everybody got their buzz on, it was time for the mainliner to be announced. Jellyneck, another very popular Northwest band, was all dressed in their signature suits and wrestling masks for anonymity. Let the metal rain down!
Jellyneck proceeded to rock One Eyed Jacks’ crowd, who rushed the stage in anticipation of a great show.
One Eyed Jacks probably has the busiest stage in the Northend. Tom is bringing in some of the area’s best young talent, plus a few true veterans, every single Saturday night.
There have been many changes and upgrades to the program at One Eyed Jacks lately. First of all, behind the bar is one of Seattle’s most favorite bartenders, Sunny, formerly at the Little Red Hen on Greenlake. She’s got to be the best asset Tom has these days. Just a perfect fit for the clientele at One Eyed Jacks.
Recently, he hired a promoter to handle his live music scheduling too. Tom Olsen, of Hot Rocks is now in the hot seat, and should bring a breath of fresh air to the weekly lineup.
Tom was in the process of video-streaming the Jellyneck show live for anyone, anywhere to enjoy. Go to www.hotrocks.tv to see the show live every Saturday night. Also on Comcast channel 77 at 7:00pm.
The bar was full of black leather, tatoos, and creative piercings. A colorful crowd, to say the least.

For Halloween this year, don’t go anywhere but One Eyed Jacks. They will be having the party of the decade, with a costume contest, tons of live music, a spooky burlesque show, and awesome drink specials.
