Parlor Live is Premium

By Ty Hughes

Got my hands on a couple of premium tickets to see Tom Papa live at the beautiful Parlor Live Comedy Club last month. Made a few calls and it was party time!

Since the club is on the third floor of the Lincoln Square Building right downtown Bellevue, it takes a bit of doing to get to the front doors, but once inside, you’ll be truly dazzled by the scene before you. An elevated bar oversees two long rows of immaculate pool tables. The pool cues arranged so as to defy physics with a cue ball floating two feet over each table. Quite a trick.

Anxiously we were ushered down the hall into the Comedy Club, where Comedian Tom Papa, The Marriage Ref, was in the house and ready to go!

We ordered up some ungodly number of appetizer plates and were starting in on our second cocktail by the time the comics took the stage. Comedians Paul Morrissey, and Seattle native Justin Rupple warmed up the audience with perfect tempo and rhythm. These guys are top notch! Everyone was laughing hysterically when Tom Papa came out and took it to a whole new level. When you’re laughing so hard, your eyes are watering, you can’t breathe, saliva is exiting your mouth, but you’ve got to suck in the tiniest breath of oxygen, you know you got your money’s worth! People aren’t designed to laugh that hard. Absolutely hilarious! We had a blast and will definitely go again.

Everything about the Parlor Live and the UltraLounge is sexy. Get yourself out there for a show in June sometime. Check their Web site for ticket giveaways from time to time – www.parlorlive.com.
