Seattle Swing!

By Ty Hughes

One night last month, I took the whirlwind tour around Seattle and poked my head into several popular Seattle karaoke houses. Ride along and see what I found!

Four Seas Restaurant

714 South King Street, Seattle, WA

(206) 682-4900

Karaoke: Thur, Fri, Sat

Take your voice to the International District of Seattle for karaoke fun with the Four Seas’ friendly new host, Jared. If you look closely, you’ll notice the resemblance, as Jared is Aunty Pumpkin’s own son!

Just a month into his new gig, Jared’s sense of humor and lighthearted approach to hosting is attracting a young, vibrant audience to the cozy little bar on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

Enjoy the award-winning Chinese cuisine, a cocktail, and a song.

Crescent Lounge

1413 East Olive Way, Seattle, WA

(206) 720-8188

Karaoke: 7 nights/week

Terrence hosts karaoke at Seattle’s quintessential alternative karaoke lounge seven nights a week. On Capitol Hill’s precipice overlooking the freeway through downtown, the Crescent Lounge is a tiny, but very poplular karaoke hotspot. Despite the size of the interior, they’ve given a majority of the floor space to the singer’s staging area. Here you’ll enjoy a colorful and diverse audience, and everything from Rock and Roll to animated show tunes.

This karaoke party runs deep into the night, and brings a load of surprises. Crescent Lounge is a must on everyone’s karaoke bucket list.

Attic Alehouse & Eatery

4226 E. Madison Street, Seattle, WA

(206) 323-3131

Karaoke: Fridays

The Attic Alehouse, situated at the far end of Madison Street, in a trendy little shopping area for the wealthy, features a modest karaoke show every Friday night.

Singers at the Attic appreciate the eclectic, home-spun atmosphere, with lots of TVs, a friendly crowd, and really cold beer.

Hosting karaoke at the Attic is one of our favorite singers/performers, the one and only Baby Van Beezley! Her professionalism is outdone only by her fun-loving personality and crazy antics on stage.

Come on out for a memorable night of karaoke at the Attic Alehouse & Eatery with Baby Van Beazley.

Hula Hula

106 1st Ave N, Seattle, WA

(206) 284-5003

Karaoke: 7 nights/week

The Hula Hula, at the foot of the Space Needle, has always been a favorite location for karaoke nuts traveling to and through town.

DJ Mikey runs a tight show, filled with all kinds of excitement and surprises every single night of the week.

His sound system, stage, and light show rivals even the very best you’ll find. Mikey always plays to a packed room of theatrical types, many of whom make their living on stage. Needless to say, the level of talent at the Hula Hula is amazing.

Despite regular changes in the Management, DJ Mikey seems to be untouchable as long as he continues to fill the bar for karaoke.

I am not entirely sure if they still do it, but karaoke at The Crescent Lounge used to start at 3:30pm on the weekends.
