Singers’ Showdown preliminary rounds August 8, 9

Local vocalists are invited to audition for a spot to compete in the second annual Hometown Hootenanny Singers’ Showdown, with the final judging set for Saturday, August 25, beginning at 7:30pm at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Avenue, downtown Everett.

Contestants will compete in two categories: 16 & Under Vocalists and Adult Vocalists, focusing on Country, Folk and Bluegrass musical styles. Preliminary rounds for the August 25 showdown will be held August 8 and 9 at the Everett Mall Music Hall.

Vocalists may perform with self-accompaniment on guitar or keyboards, or with recorded tracks. Each contestant will have the opportunity to present one song for the audition round and the final show, and song choices are at the entrant’s discretion.

Following auditions, the top contestants will be invited to appear at the Showdown on August 25, with a chance to win cash and merchandise prizes, and a guest appearance in a future Hometown Hootenanny production.
