Tiki’s tropical escape
By Ty Hughes
Ruthann covered for Tiger B. at Tiki’s. The Tiki’s baseball team needed Tiger on the field. She was gracious enough to step in and help out, getting karaoke up and running at the bar on a Sunday in October. Ruthann is very friendly and outgoing, not to mention perty darn cute, and one helluva singer.
Tiki’s in downtown Kirkland was all primed and partying when Tiger finally showed up for his shift.
It wasn’t long before the entire bar was eating out of Tiger’s hands. He and his singers had the whole room enraptured in every aspect of the show. So entertaining. Hard to believe this stuff is absolutely free! “Karaoke ‘n Kaos” is a fitting slogan for Tiger B’s show.
This would be Adam Chow’s birthday, and Tiger was prepared with an extensive photo gallery of Chows (the dog) dedicated to Adam. What a great touch, Adam blushed as the whole bar ooh’d and aah’d through the video.
Everyone got in lots of singing, and it seemed busy in the bar. Tiki’s has always been a real busy bar, right smack in the center of the action. Lots of super cute ladies hangin’ out, enjoying the show… that’s just how Tiger rolls, y’know.
Many of you have met Tiki’s new owner Micah. A relatively young guy with a strong background in running successful bars. He left the Parlor Live in Bellevue to take over at Tiki’s, and hasn’t looked back. Everybody lets loose and has a great time, especially when there’s karaoke to sing. They won’t hesitate to jump up on the little stage area in groups and synchronize their dancing. And don’t be surprised to see Tiger emerge behind you wearing some crazy wig or mask, bangin’ a tambourine or maracas. He enjoys a personal relationship with his singers and makes them feel important and part of the production. He’s got some holiday dates available to host your Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and other parties. If you want to really boost your party’s excitement with Tiger B’s one-man show, contact him now before his schedule fills up. His company, Cat Daddy Entertainment offers the following services; DJ, Emcee, Karaoke, plus live bands and Improv comedy with Jet City Improv. He’ll even put on his Santa suit and sing or hand out gifts! Reach him at tiger@catdaddyentertainment.com or (206) 380-5164.
It might be a good idea to pop in at Tiki’s on a Sunday or a Tuesday after 8:30pm and see him in action. Ask Carly and Corey behind the bar what they think of the karaoke show at Tiki’s. They’ll surely tell you just how crazy it gets in there sometimes.
Kevin, Adam, and T-Ray did a trio to Disney’s Hakuna Matata and had the whole bar just rolling. They really know how to have a good time at Tiki’s during karaoke and there’s always room for you and your friends too. Sunday and Tuesday, check ‘em out soon. Maybe you can get Dustin to sing his signature Kenny Chesney song.
See Tiki’s ad here for details and visit the bar for a song and a cocktail at 106 Kirkland Ave, (425) 827-8300. You’re bound to meet some new friends and leave with a skip in your step.
