When U.P. Station and Alaskan Brewing Company team up, you win!
Tacoma’s U.P. Station joined with Alaskan Brewing Company in October to give away a brand neRedline mountain bike to one very special customer.
For two weeks leading up to October 10th, U.P. Station customers ordered a frothy pint of Alaskan Amber or Stout, both on tap, for just $3.25 each. With every Alaskan, they were handed a raffle ticket to fill out and throw into the little bucket of dreams.
Today was the big giveaway day, and you must be present to win. The bar filled up quick around dinnertime. It was Steak Night that Wednesday, for God’s sake! Only $8.95 for a huge Flat Iron steak, plus baked potato, and a nice salad. Those Alaskan Amber’s were flying out of the bar. The girls were busy keeping up with all the requests. The regulars coming through the doors were warmly greeted, and each of them were proud to be considered as one. With a word, they had their order working.
Alaskan beer rep, Steve was in the house, ready to reveal the big winner. He was great about getting around the room, riling up the crowd for the final drawing. The Stouts and Ambers flowed freely and abundantly, and the little bucket of dreams filled right up.
Once everyone was finished with their scrumptious steak dinners, and had a full pint of Alaskan in front of them, Steve grabbed everyone’s attention. He thanked everyone for their commitment to his beer, and pulled a name out of the jar.
The bike hung suspended over one of two fireplaces, in the karaoke room, as if to taunt. Some even came out dressed in their biking gear, hoping to win that bike. This was a nice mountain bike, and they really wanted it. Anxious conversation, thick with anticipation, ran around the room.
When Steve raised the winning ticket, everyone held their breath. “Is there a Steve Tharp here?” The main table in front of the fireplace exploded with excitement, as Steve Tharp jumped up from his chair! “No way! It’s my birthday too!” he screams. What a perfect ending!
Congratulations to Steve on his big win. He will surely enjoy his new mountain bike, compliments of Alaskan Brewing and the U.P. Station.
